My name is Robby Markman, and I live in Houston, Texas. I am very pleased to be the new Vice President of the VMCCA.

I entered the collector car hobby when my father purchased a 1951 Kaiser for me in 1988 as a gift for my 14th birthday. I still have it and have added 26 more antique cars to my collection since then. I have been attending antique car shows since 1986 when my mother took me to a charity fundraiser car show hosted by one of the organizations of which she was a member.

My collection consists of American “orphan” cars such as Graham, Kaiser, and Packard. I also have quite a few British cars such as Rolls-Royce, Jaguar, and MG. I have a 1953 Cadillac, 1956 Thunderbird, and a 1963 Imperial as my “mainstream” old cars. I have rented my cars for weddings and movies, too.

I am very excited about being involved with VMCCA and look forward to participating in various events and encouraging my other car friends to join the club and become active in it. I enjoy organizing car club tours and inviting car collectors to my ranch in Central Texas to see my car collection. I hosted my first car event when I was 17 years old.

I have also attended car events such as tours, swap meets, and conventions across the United States and Canada. This has enabled me to make many car friends all over. I have learned so much from them, and will always be grateful for that.

I am looking forward to working with my fellow club officers this year to help make decisions for running the club and making it fun and enjoyable for all the members for many more years to come.

The collector car and touring hobbies are wonderful activities because they are things that everyone in the whole family can be involved with.
