Hello!! How is everyone doing? Are you ready to start touring again? I have had calls about tours so here is some information to help you plan ahead. First, we just completed the Chrome Glidden Tour in Marysville/Alcoa Tennessee, hosted by Jimmie and Debbie Hixson. A new photo gallery will be on the web site soon.
The 4th Lewis and Clark Tour will be held in June starting in Yankton, South Dakota. Bob and I will be attending the tour along with 49 other cars and friends. About 30 people that were on the original Lewis & Clark Tour, in 2017, will be participating again this year. If you are interested or would like information about this tour, please contact Jim and Judy Johnson, our hosts this year.
Registration is open for the 75th Revival AAA Glidden Tour to be held in September. Bill Preston, our tour director, has great activities and sights planned for us to see in Saratoga Springs, New York. Also, Pam Robinson has a special Spa day planned. See the tours page on the web site for more info, or check out the info in the Bulb Horn and the Touring Chronicle. Be sure to fill out your registration form for any of these specials that you might be interested in. Also, you can order shirts for the 75th Revival AAA Glidden Tour on your registration form. Bill is planning on a large tour and also looking for several Brass cars to attend.
The Convertible Tour will be held in October in Branson Missouri and is hosted by Jim and Ginger Cohen. The registration form is in the Bulb Horn and also here https://www.vmcca.org/tours/ on the website and in the Touring Chronicle. This is the 3rd Convertible Tour and is being held in a very nice area of our country. We will be seeing the sights and activities from the area where Jim and Ginger live. Bob and I are looking forward to taking the Barracuda for a top-down tour.
In November, our Western National Tour will be held in Cottonwood Arizona. Malcolm Stinson, tour director, is looking forward to showing everyone activities in his state. Malcolm has added a special day for our Veterans attending the tour. Please let Malcolm or Jane know if attending, and if you are a veteran, especially if you registered last year as this is something that was not on the registration last year. Registration is open for this tour now. Also, on Saturday after the tour, you can sign up to ride the Verde Train for an extra cost added to the tour.
Please remember when filling out your registration form that the driver must be a member of VMCCA. Sometimes a family member or friend drives your car on the tour, but they need to be a member of VMCCA, as per our insurance policy. Also, if you decide to bring a different car than the one that you registered, please contact the tour registrar so they can fix your application and the tour book if it is not printed yet.
We are looking forward to seeing you soon. Take care and stay healthy and now I am going to relax at my sewing machine. See you down the road!
