Happy New Year from the Texas Hill Country. I hope your year includes one or more VMCCA national, regional, and local tours. Have fun and stay healthy.
A big THANK YOU to all who hosted the VMCCA National Tours during 2023. All of the tours were a success with good registrations and profits. I know that the national tours are not the sole source for VMCCA income, but the profit from a tour does help with the bottom line.
We have seen many changes in how tours are planned since 2021, with some venues not wanting to give a price for a lunch or entry fee too far in advance. This causes delays with getting a budget completed and registration forms available to VMCCA members. The registration forms for the 2024 VMCCA tours have now been posted on the VMCCA website, and are in the Touring Chronicle and Bulb Horn publications.
We are trying a new venue for the 2024 Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet – a three-day, four-night cruise on a Royal Caribbean ship to Cozumel, Mexico and back. We hope to share the meetings via ZOOM so that those who cannot go on the cruise can participate in that manner. And we do want you to participate. Contact Mike Welsh and let him know that you want the log-in information and he will email it to you. The pros and cons of this venue format will be discussed at a future VMCCA Board of Governors meeting.
The calendar for 2024 has a lot of tours on it. Pick one, pick two or three, to attend. The list is in the Calendar of Events on another page in this issue and is also published in the Touring Chronicle and on the VMCCA website. By the way, have you logged onto the VMCCA website lately? Lots of useful information is available under the Membership tab. You will need a user name and password to access the items under this tab. Take a look under the tab “Member Resources”. The information to host a tour (national, regional, and local) has been updated and consolidated under one tab. The various forms used to host tours, such as writing up the directions for a tour, planning a budget, driver release form, etc, are all under the same tab. Take a look and I hope this information is useful to tour hosts on all levels of VMCCA.
Planning has begun for events in 2025. If you would like to host the 2025 Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet, please contact me by email at vactivities@vmcca.org.
Have a blessed 2024. Beautiful Day, Gone Touring.
